Eye of the storm

I sense the shift in the air, soft and subtle, like a breeze blowing in from the east.  I catch myself scanning the horizon, eyes looking far off at where today meets tomorrow. I am wondering if it’s a habit, something learned that has just become so much a part of me that it is feels more like instinct. My mood is altering, in ways that I wonder how many people around me can truly perceive.

Every year at this time I began to fold inward, in a protective stance. Some one could and I am sure has, tried to logically explain the way that this season effects so many of us. Yet how do you connect the logic to the deep rooted emotions? How do you verge the knowing with the way the heart constricts?

The little one is enamored with the upcoming holidays. Delight sparkles in her like stardust, and she is full of anticipatory glee. She has asked to make a mug for the holiday gift sharing. Yes, she has asked, and I will never say no to the generosity of her spirit . The man-child,( which is now how I will refer to him, for I can see the man he will become in the child that I love.) is so overwhelmed at the momentous task of raising money that is before him, looks at me with wide eyes and says” Are you serious?” Being the ornery mother that I am  I simply explain to him that it is a lesson in time management and priorities. “What are yours?” I sweetly ask.

Can you hear him groaning?

So in the eye of the upcoming holiday storms, in the tumultuous season of stress and despair, my children and I will once again be giving gifts of love to those of you out there in the world. I can tell you the little one will be making a pottery mug…~smile~ as for what else will come out of this little shack in the woods, only time and effort will tell.

I thank you for giving me and mine this opportunity , for it is a gift to us to be able to send out into the world little bits of our light and love.

We are all feathers floating on the breeze, it is the breath of the divine in all of us that carries us where we need to be.

With deep gratitude

and blessings in abundance

Thank you

Here is the origin of our gift giving if you are interested.

A MUST SEE !

foodI am very blessed to live near a great many farms. Small farms that grow food the same way they always have. I may pay $3.00 for a dozen eggs, but I walk up to the farmer dodging the chickens who are eating grass and bugs and rotten tomatoes. I feel even more fortunate after having watched this movie.

Even if you can’t afford to buy organic, even if you don’t have the money to eat healthy, It is your right to make demands upon our government to effect some changes in the way our food is produced. I read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair in High-school, it pains me to think that in 100 years we have returned to that same horror.

I have to recommend this movie to EVERY ONE!

Please

Rent it,

watch it,

You need to know what you are eating, you need to know what giant corporations are doing to our farmers.

Be informed!

For a preview of the movie go HERE

I can get on a soap box, and this one I am standing on begging you to see this movie…
